Small Bikes Big Hearts -
BIG SUCCESS!
April 30, 2009
NEW GALLERY COMING IN A FEW DAYS!!
Gallery now available, click here.
The Small Bikes Big Hearts mini-motard relay for cancer research on April 5, 2009 was a huge success. The relay itself was a blast, with 57 riders making up 19 teams. The riders ranging in ages from 13-50+; from all backgrounds of motocross, roadracing, pitbike racing, pocketbike racing made for one of the most diverse groups we've seen on a track at one time.
In the planning stages of this event, we decided to try and raise $5,000.
With the high number of riders coming forth wanting to participate, we
quickly upped our goal to an ambitious $10,000. Riders worked very hard
pledge driving for weeks preceeding the relay. Their pledge driving efforts
and their generous family & friends brought us way above and beyond our goal
to a final tally of :
** $18,125.70 **
1st Place: "Team Honda" - Gil Johnson, Mitch Fresnoza, Ryan Hykaway
2nd Place: "KCJ" - Sean Harik, Jay Morin, James Smith
3rd Place: "Thrash Hard" - Gilles Corbeil, Travis Ferguson, Ben Wirth
4th Place: "Boys 2 Men" - Dave Rand, Kim Houde, Devon Ward
1st Place 50: "Team Honda" - Gil Johnson, Mitch Fresnoza, Ryan Hykaway
Thanks to all the volunteers, organizers, and companies that helped out with this event. Great job everyone!

The Altona MMA Race should be great, however the pitbike races on Saturday have been relocated. There is a fundraiser party for some friends that are going through a difficult time and we encourage everyone to get out there and have a blast for a good cause. As far as I can see the pitbike races begin around 2pm – and there is tons of other great stuff planned. See this post for details.
There is a Ducati Show and Shine this Thursday, July 24th on Corydon!! See this post for details .
The 3rd Annual Capitol Bike trip is fast approaching. Feel free to email rachel@capitolmotosports.com if you need any details about what to bring, etc. Can’t wait to hit the road, look out Ontario!!
The Canadian Chaos show went really well with a massive turnout and amazing stunting by Sean, Terry, Carina and local Lee Stuart. Can’t wait to do it again.
Capitol was honored to be the sponsor of the MRA Round 3. We hosted some Olympics which consisted of trivia and a glow stick pit bike race. Will post some pics soon. Congratulations to Capitol Olympics Champ Jeff LaPreashuk!! Some MRA racing highlights were a 3rd place win in the Sportsmen race by Dave Rand (not bad for his first actual sportbike race!) and Myron Groening giving us a new definition of the word Champion. It was a great weekend, great people, great racing. If any of you out there have yet to experience a Track Day, you gotta!
Yes, the rumors are true! Capitol will be moving to 157 St. Anne’s Road (just a few blocks south from our current store). We do not have a move-in date yet but we will most certainly keep everyone posted. Surely it won’t be until the end of the season.
